Whiting Law Group Wins $3 Million Verdict in Out-of-State Trucking Accident
April 08, 2011
As leading attorneys in truck accident litigation, Whiting Law Group recently won a $3 million verdict on behalf of a plaintiff who was killed in a trucking crash. Founding Partner, Timothy M. Whiting successfully argued the case in San Bernadino County in March 2011, in a bench trial.
The details of the accident are tragic, with the plaintiff dying on the scene. On December 18, 2008, the Defendant was driving a semi-truck east on Interstate 40 in the city of Sayre, Oklahoma. Whiting Law Group’s client was driving a semi-truck on I-40, in the same direction. The Defendant lost control of his truck, causing it to run off the median, roll over and block all eastbound lanes of traffic on the interstate. As a result of the Defendant’s vehicle blocking all eastbound lanes of traffic, the Plaintiff collided with the Defendant’s vehicle. Sadly, the Plaintiff was instantly killed. He was survived by his wife and two adult children.
Reflecting on the case, Tim Whiting shed some light on the firm’s ability to deliver results in complex cases:
“With years of experience in trucking accident litigation, Whiting Law Group was able to protect the rights of our client and his family. The accident occurred in Oklahoma and the case was filed in California. We are based in Illinois and Wisconsin, yet were were still able to win a significant victory for our client.”
Under Tim Whiting’s leadership, Whiting Law Group regularly uses its legal expertise, on behalf of clients, to hold trucking companies and truck drivers accountable for not following regulations or safety practices. When such companies and drivers fail to act safely, their negligence often results in tragedy.
With decades of experience of fighting for the legal rights of clients, Whiting Law Group is committed to obtaining justice for its clients in truck accident cases in Illinois, Wisconsin and beyond.
