Whiting Law Group is proud to announce that Attorney Sara M. Davis won a judgment of $430,000.00 after the jury verdict on behalf of a union worker injured in a car crash. The defendant’s final pre-trial settlement offer was for $130,000. The trial was held in Lake County, Illinois in November 2013.
A 20-year-old apprentice in the Local 160 Heavy Equipment Operators Union, Daniel Heimbrodt was the victim of a motor vehicle accident on a rural rode in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Mr. Heimbrodt was struck broadside by another driver who failed to stop at a stop sign. Although he went home after the auto accident, Mr. Heimbrodt awakened the following morning with incredible lower back pain.
In seeking medical treatment and relief from on-going back pain, Mr. Heimbrodt visited a number of physicians and neurosurgeons. His treatment lasted a number of years and often proved difficult for him.
In pursuing the case for the Plaintiff, the personal injury attorneys at Whiting Law Group demanded compensation for Mr. Heimbrodt’s medical bills, loss of wages, the cost of future surgery, and that he needed to change jobs. Whiting Law Group retained experts to prove the cost of the required continuing medical treatments. The firm also brought in an expert to detail the cost of retraining Mr. Heimbrodt for a less demanding job following the advice of his treating physicians.
Reflecting on the impressive trial win, the firm’s managing partner, Timothy M. Whiting, offered the following:
“I am incredibly impressed with Sara’s victory in this case as she took a very difficult case with a low offer and fought for our client to obtain full justice and a jury award of more than three times the offer. Sara’s relentless pursuit of justice on behalf of the little guy is unparalleled to any young lawyer that I have ever met.”
Whiting Law Group has won numerous cases that were either settled or tried before a jury, resulting in over $100 million in recoveries for the firm’s clients.
