Making the Trucking Industry Safer

As a truck accident lawyer, I know how dangerous the big trucks that fill our highways are. The wider public is growing increasingly aware of the dangers the trucking industry poses to road safety, thanks in part to increased press coverage about driver fatigue and distracted driving. Given the economic importance of the trucking industry, we must work to make sure that it dramatically improves its safety record.

The Trucking Industry Is Important

Make Trucking Industry Safety A PriorityAs a personal injury lawyer, I have a great deal of respect for the trucking industry. Truck drivers and trucking companies play a key role in getting products into the stores and shops where we can buy them. The trucking industry employs a great number of people and is responsible for putting bread on the table for a large number of Americans and their families. That is not to be overlooked or undervalued.

The Trucking Industry Poses Serious Safety Risks

Take a minute to consider just a few of these recent headlines:

These heart-wrenching crashes are painful reminders of why these 80,000 lbs. product-hauling machines need to be heavily regulated and closely monitored with constant safety inspections. They are too big and dangerous for anything less.

Working to Make the Trucking Industry Safer

The trucking industry is an integral part of our country’s economy. We need it to succeed as a country. Yet we need it to operate in a safer way. As a trucking accident attorney, I am committed to improving the safety of the industry.

As a lawyer, my primary tool is effective litigation. I fight for justice for my clients. When they suffer serious injury or the death of loved ones, I work as hard as I can to hold the negligent truck driver, trucking company, shipper, shipping broker or other stakeholder accountable for their wrong doing.

I also deliver seminars and continuing legal education training so that other lawyers can improve their respective capacity to protect the rights of their clients.

As a member of the National Advisory Board of APITLA, a leading organization of truck accident attorneys, and through my involvement with the Trucking Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice, I communicate with legislators and regulators at both the state and national levels to bring about improved legislation and regulation for the trucking industry.

By working together to improve the safety of the trucking industry, we can make our nation’s highways and roads safer for everyone.
