As a truck accident attorney, I regularly hear stories of truck drivers who feel pressured by their employers to violate safety rules and procedures in order to make the companies more money. With the severe turbulence in the economy over the past several years, truck drivers have been reluctant to stand up to unscrupulous companies for fear of losing their jobs. To help address this issue, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has established a number of ways that drivers can report unsafe truck companies.
For Truck Drivers to Report Unsafe Truck Companies
To help drivers who work for unsafe trucking companies the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has created a hotline for commercial vehicle drivers to submit reports of actual or potential violations of the federal motor carrier safety regulations.
The line, 1-888-DOT-SAFT (368-7238), is a toll-free number for drivers nationwide to contact the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
