Whiting Law Group is very happy to announce that registrations are now open for its first Continuing Legal Education Course (CLE), entitled Starting and Running Your Own Firm. The MLCE accredited course will detail the nuts and bolts of starting a law practice, how to get it up and running and, equally importantly, how to maintain its success over time. This seminar is being offered for free by Whiting Law Group.
The course details are as follows:
Course: Starting and Running Your Own Law Firm
Date: Wednesday, September 25, 2013
Time: 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm CST
Place: Whiting Law Group, One E. Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601

Starting and Running Your Own Law Firm
The seminar will aid lawyers who are considering starting their own firm and those who have already opened their own law practice.
The seminar will provide instruction on important matters: incorporation and employment, insurance, accounting/banking, office space and leases, and marketing, networking and website development. Each instructor has a concentration and experience with the respective areas on which they will present.
As a successful truck accident and personal injury attorney, Tim Whiting knows how to get a law firm off the ground and how to keep it growing. He started Whiting Law Group in the kitchen of his apartment in 2001. Now more than a decade later, with more than $100 million in awards and settlements for clients, Tim is uniquely poised to offer particularly valuable insight to other lawyers interested in starting their own practice — and to those already running their own firms.
In reflecting on his reasons for offering this CLE-accredited course for free, Mr. Whiting shared his thoughts:
“While my success in starting and running my own personal injury law practice the last 12 years is the result of a lot of hard work and long hours, I had many friends and mentors who offered guidance and a helping hand over the years. When I first started my practice at the kitchen table of my apartment, I had plenty of help setting up my firm, organizing it, hiring accountants, bankers, marketing agencies and employment lawyers. After more than a decade since starting Whiting Law Group, I’ve built a team of 4 lawyers and a full staff of 12.”
“This is my opportunity to extend my insights, stumbling blocks and success with others who like me, want to start their own law practice and run it effectively, professionally and successfully.”
The Presentations and Instructors
All the presentations in this 3-hour seminar have started their own successful businesses. They have all “been there, done that”. The advice, guidance and instruction that they will impart are the lessons learned from the trenches of growing their own law firms, consultancies and businesses.
